Hostage & Suicide Intervention in Schools

Course Overview:
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge of school administrators,
counselors, teachers, and school resource officers in dealing with crisis
such as hostage or suicide attempts in their schools until specialized units
(law enforcement, EMS, etc.) can arrive at the scene. During this (2) day
course attendees will be presented with ideas and techniques to assist them
with the main goal of minimizing chances of injury to anyone involved.
Introduction:
Fifty years ago school discipline problems were talking, chewing gum, running
in halls, etc. Today in the 21st Century problems are more complex and more
demanding to say the least. Today, because of recent school incidents—school
safety must start in broad preventive terms calling for in-depth preplanning
between law enforcement and school personnel.
Upon Completion:
This (2) day training module will provide the school administrators, counselors,
teachers, and school resource officers with knowledge and information to
